b1solutions launches b1 repair for SAP Business One - March 2009

b1solutions today launched their comprehensive solution for companies who repair or refurbish items and require more automation through the repair process.

b1repair is specifically designed for companies dealing with the return, inspection, maintenance, repair and despatch of serialised products.

It automates the movement of products between departments and allows the recording and billing of parts & labour items at each point in the process.

Utilising the standard SAP Business One SDK and Service Module business logic, b1repair enhances the user interface to improve operational efficiencies where it is necessary to process products quickly between departments.

b1 repair key features

ü   Receipt process allows barcode scanning of the operator and product and the ability to record additional expected items either present or missing (power lead, monitor, stylus, remote, bag etc.)

ü   SAP Service Call & Customer Equipment cards are automatically created by the receipt process. These can be related to various Warranty templates if required.

ü   Default labour or parts items can be added to a service call automatically. For example, repairing a games console always attracts a repair cost of x, repairing a television always attracts a repair cost of y.

ü   Automatic notification of “parts missing” to the relevant personnel allows purchase or current inventory assignment to the correct service call.

ü   Processing of products from one department to the next allows barcode scanning of operator and items.

ü   Full movement traceability of products between departments with operator/date/time tracking.

ü   View the current workload of any department in real time.

ü   Add additional parts or labour items to products at any point using barcode scanning of operator/serial number/parts. Automatic notification to stores personnel to supply the parts.

ü   Allows automatic comparisons of product cost price, parts added and write off percentage to notify personnel if a product is beyond economical repair.

ü   Create new serial numbers and barcode labels for each customer if needed.

ü   Create new barcode despatch box labels.

ü   Receive complete products into either good quality or scrap warehouses.

ü   Despatch repaired products using barcode scanning of operator and serial numbers. Goods can be returned to the original customer or sold on to another customer as required.

ü   Automated invoicing for standard repair costs, parts and additional labour items against each service call.
